Can You Make Money? Why do you need to? What will be your Driving Force?Why does everyone want to work from home? Why do you? I have wanted to work from home and make money, for as long as I can remember - and have finally achieved that, albeit part-time! I still owner manage my electrical materials wholesaling company, but that won't be for much longer. My two daughters are being groomed to take over those reins pretty soon. It does occur to me, however, that I have tried many times to achieve success in my own home based business, and have failed many times. I have,on the other hand, had some success as well. In the process (which has taken place over the last 16 years or so) I have become a lot wiser to the rocky road of working from home. Call it the University of Life, call it the University of Hard Knocks, call it whatever you like - when circumstances throw you into the deep end, you've either got to sink or swim! Pretty soon you learn to do more than the doggy paddle. They say that experience is a harsh teacher - she gives the test first and the lesson after! I hope that my experiences will, through this site, assist you in avoiding the dark side of working from home - and show you the light. What I took a long time to discover...was that I never had a compelling enough reason to want to work from home. I thought that the wish to earn extra money was good enough - it never was! Before you explore the hundreds of ways there are to make money from home, you need to think awhile about the reasons WHY you want to work from home. I can't tell you the answers, there aren't any right or wrong answers, only strong and compelling reasons why YOU want to do it. To stimulate your thoughts on this subject, allow me to highlight some of the reasons that I and others find quite compelling - FREEDOMThis is probably the strongest driving force for me. As someone who spent almost 6 years in the Armed Forces, almost 13 years in the Banking Industry (to Corporate level), managed a Real Estate agency for someone and then managed a branch of another electrical wholesaler - I was subjected to the absurd whims of my superiors (bosses) for almost thirty years! WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THAT?To be able to work for myself, from home, was (and still is) the only way that I can establish total FREEDOM for myself. The Freedom to make my own decisions, to decide the hours I work, decide when to take my vacations, decide who I want to work with and decide exactly what work I want to do. Now, I don't know about you - but the thought of that kind of freedom makes me weak at the knees! When you work from home, you create the freedom to do exactly what you want. You make your own rules - you are in charge. I would say that was pretty compelling, wouldn't you? TO MAKE MONEYNow, I don't know of one single person that will look me (or you) in the eyes and say they don't need to make money!Money drives the world and everything in it. If you don't have enough money...you're sunk! Money can buy you freedom (there's that word again) and it can take you and your family to new highs. The fact that you found this site and are now reading what I have to say means that you want, NEED TO make money. There's nothing wrong with that. Money is an absolute necessity and you have a right to lots of it! The challenge that most people face is that from the time you can understand, society and your parents have told you that "money doesn't grow on trees" - "money is the root of all evil" and other misguided sayings that achieve nothing else but instill a mentality of scarcity within you. I want you, right now, to start rejecting those "scarcity" sayings from your very being. Starting right now, you need to start telling yourself that money is good, that there is an unlimited supply of it and you will now start to share in that abundance. We will delve a little deeper into this soon enough. In the meantime...you must believe that you are entitled to share in the money! You cannot make money unless you are "ready" to make money - unless you are prepared to accept money into your life. So many people want money...lots of it, but, if I were to ask them why they wanted it, they could not say. Or, they might say something like "Because I could do sooo much with it!" or "Because I like to shop..." or some other equally senseless reason. You need to know exactly why and how much money you are going to make. You need to set yourself realistic money goals - more on goal setting elsewhere in this site. Make Money....I love that idea as much as you do! FAMILYIf you're anything like me, then your family is probably the most important thing in your life. Although it's pretty hard to rank it next to Freedom and Money! Kidding aside - to be able to work from home allows you to be with your family when you need to be. It allows you to attend school functions, sports days, swimming galas, fetch and carry the kids to school, extra lessons (detention?)music class and more. I'm sure you get the picture.Young moms with pre-school kids need to be there pretty much full time. Your home business will allow that. But, I caution you - self discipline will need to rank highly on your list of personal strengths if you are to be successful. OK!... those are only three reasons - I'm sure you will have more and that is good. The important thing to remember here is that whatever reason you have it must be an absolute driving force within you. If you believe that your reason is just that, then commit to it - write it down and look at it every day. Imprint it in your mind - the rest will then be so much easier. To run your own home business and make money from it is not easy - but it is not hard either. There are rules, but you are the one making the rules, you are the boss. Do you want to listen to the boss? Or do you want to tell him to shove it! Find your compelling reason - it will then be easier to listen to the boss!
